I'd replace just the "clutch slave cylinder" first, odds are that's where the problem is, not the master cylinder. They are two seperate items, one in the motor bay in front of the driver, near the outside of the car, small while plastic resevoir on top, the other is down under the car on the transmission, near the starter on the passengers side. Usually the slaves go and start leaking fluid. On the Z's they are SO simple to change, this is a good DIY job. Does take two people to bleed the air out of the system afterwards too though, and that takes some time. See eralier posts. As far as cost, I just replaced mine this weekend and decided not to go with Nissan factory parts, but just went to a reputable import parts store and got a generic replacement cylinder for the car. Cost about $25 as I recall, and seems to be working just fine. Didn't proce the Nissan part, so not sure how that compares, a call to a dealer and you could check. If you have any specific question feel free to email me "billprew@home.com", this really is a straight forward procedure.
